Read novel samples

UPDATE, JUNE 7TH, 2011

The Number 3 Mystery book is now available for the Kindle at Amazon. If you live in the UK, USA or Germany, you can read it. It costs just £0.69 right now — I want people to take a chance on me, which is why the price is presently so low.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Below are synopsis’s for my two upcoming young-adult novels. Even though they’re aimed at young adults, I hope that readers of all ages will get some kind of kick out of them (and those who read the book before it went up on Amazon seemed to agree, so that’s something).

The Number 3 Mystery book is the first book that will be available. It’ll be formatted for the Kindle first, and then soon after for Smashwords. If you don’t own an e-reader, that hopefully shouldn’t be too much of a barrier — providing people do actually want to read my work, and the demand is there, I’ll make them available in paperback too (although I’d never presume that; at this moment I’m right at the start of all this, and who knows what opinion will be?).

One last thing, I don’t think there are too many typos / errors in the files but there may be. The finished article is bound to change a bit, and by then any errors should be fixed.

Thanks,

Chris

THE NOVELS

The Number 3 Mystery Book

Barney is 13. He also has Cherubism: the rare genetic disorder which disfigures the face and sometimes proves lethal. He’s also completely and utterly obsessed with Cryptozoology — the study of creatures ignored by scientists, and for good reason: 99% of the time they don’t exist…

…but, when Barney discovers something mysterious at the local pond, his quest for world-wide recognition takes a bizarre turn, sending him and his best friend Wonky on a journey which is anything but predictable.

Love Your Little Sister

Waking up in hospital after a brutal house fire, Amy Smith is angry and upset: both things she’s excellent at being, seeing as she’s no girly-girl. Worse, though, she’s cursed to spend the six week summer holiday bored out of her mind with nothing good to do. If that wasn’t bad enough, all her possessions have been burnt to ashes – including her beloved maggot farm – and she’s got to go and live with eccentric Mrs Blooming who can’t cook and is actually crazy. Nothing like the amazing fun she had planned; not least because summer holidays for Amy Smith usually meant playing tricks on her sister and their step-mother Gloria…

LYLS is a dark fairy-tale about love, what it means to be family and what it means to have fun at all costs.

The question is: can you love too much?

Can’t wait to read Love Your Little Sister!

Have I missed it or is it not out yet?

I thoroughly enjoyed “The number 3 mystery book”, I couldn’t put it down, then when I had finished reading the story, I was mildly disappointed that there were no more “Wonky and Big Head” adventures to read about, you really must do a sequel, the characters are far too strong and fun to only be limited to one novel, you can tell that they want to live on throughout various stories of their escapades!

In summary I’m saying you have to read this book, it’s amazing, funny, sad, happy, exciting and moving all in one!

    Thanks for reading!

    Dear Carol,

Well, what can I say? This comment made me chuffed :)

Love Your Little Sister is on the way…the book is completely written, I just need to do a final light edit and format it for Kindle (I’ll probably also do paperbacks too if people want them). So no, you haven’t missed it.

Thanks a million for the kind words about The Number 3… I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t giving thought to a sequel, but at the same time I don’t want to rush it. I definitely want it to be as good as the original…if I do it (but I must admit, I am tempted).

Other people seem to be enjoying the novel, so far so good.

Thanks in large amounts for this comment Carol!

    Best wishes,

    Chris
